Aftermath of Basketball
*Warning, long post ahead- read at your own risk*
Basketball is a very enjoyable sport which I am sure many of you agree to that. I am exposed to basketball rather late at around the age of 15 and only got to know who and how Michael Jordan looks like at around 16 years old. ( I am sure that is quite laughable.... I mean, come on, who doesn't know The Legend in the basketball arena, except for me of course...back then. =p)
Since then, basketball has become a part of my life and have met a lot of friends and interesting people along the way not to mention keeping fit at the same time. However, today's post is not about basketball as a whole but rather the most common injury that happens quite easily if necessary precaution is not done.
Alright, pictures are worth thousand words and so they say..... =p

Gotcha, just sprained ankle- the common injury in basketball
Since I started playing basketball, I have sprained my ankles countless of times. This is the picture where i sprained my ankle. It's at Sibu in 2004. (Yes, that long ago...=p)
*Warning- Hairy Leg ahead*
Went to a Chinese physician and got my ankle fixed. The guy actually put some gooey stuff and wrap up my ankle with some cloth.

Healed
(If you noticed, the fine holes is the result of the needle-blood-sucking technique used to force out the "bad blood" or so I was told by the Chinese Physician)

And there is still more, in the same year I sprained my ankle twice. Lucky me, however this time it is quite serious compared to the previous one. This time it is at my university campus in Labuan.
I insisted to see a Chinese Physician but among the two ONLY chinese physician in Labuan, the expert physician is in Singapore and the other one have a not so good reputation of making things worst. I fear for my ankle so I went to the hospital trying out western treatment for the first time for this kind of injury.
Went for X-Ray, then sit in the wheelchair and managed to learn some cool tricks in it while waiting for the doctor in charge to look at my injury. The doctor actually say no big deal and applied some gooey stuff also and wrap my ankle then send me off.
I was like, huh. The pain is still there, how come it is alright to just applied some ointment and wrap it just like that and not to mention it is swelling like an elephant's foot already.
The whole night I cant sleep well due to the excruciating pain and the next morning my ankle was throbbing like mad from the pain. Luckily the Chinese Physician I was looking for came back earlier than expected and went to look for him, and after massaging the ankle for a while, with a sudden pull he said it is ok already. I look at him like as if he is joking with me but tried to walk anyway.
He is a miracle worker I tell you, these Chinese Physician surely know their stuff. =p
I can walk like normal and the pain is gone already although the swelling is still there. Then, the funny thing is that I was told by him to use my sandals and massage the swelling with it to make the swelling better. Don't know what is the rationale behind this but it really works and the sandal have to be specifically yours not others. Don't ask me why, I don't know. Really.

In CONCLUSION...CHINESE PHYSICIAN ROCKS!!!!!!!!!! =p
