Thick Face, Black Heart - Final Review

Yours Truly are going to post something on the book Thick Face Black Heart by Chin Ning Chu again. This will be the final review, well sort of because it would be more to just quote some of the nice phrases and also quotes in the book.

Overall, all the chapters shows one on how to have a thick face and black heart without being ruthless and that it is the very nature of human behavior. The only reason why us can't utilize it or realize it, is that we are influenced by the so called morale, ethics, culture, and upbringing that more often than not would be on the losing side of everything. To know more, just get the book... ( No, I am not getting paid for this... =p. Just felt that it is a good book to give some different perspective on things/life.)

Walk Walk Find Eat ( Jalan Jalan Cari Makan)

As Yours Truly mentioned in this post. He went to Penang for the USM convocation and also to have some time off from work.

Saw something interesting in USM. Normally people would just throw their hats up in the air for the convocation.......

BUT

Anyway, this post is not about the convocation, so lets move to the main topic...FOOD.... Now, who doesn't like food? Yes, yours truly not only NEED but LIKES all things that is FOOD. =p

Before I continue, I am not going to show food like the famous asam laksa (which I find not to my taste) or Penang Char Kueh Tiaw. I tried them already in my previous visit to Penang. (might do a post on that..) but this time around, I just randomly go to where my stomach leads me.
Another reminder, most of the time yours truly are very busy eating, so don't expect too much photos. =p

Health Tips

Come across this in my over flooded mail (been away for quite some time, remember? =p). It's a few health tips mainly concerns the Brain and also the Liver. Don't know what is brain and liver? Go consult Uncle Google or Auntie Yahoo or Mr. Wikipedia if you still don't know. =p

Anyway, back to the tips.

Brain Damaging Habits

No Breakfast
People who do not take breakfast are going to have a lower blood sugar level.
This leads to an insufficient supply of nutrients to the brain causing brain degeneration.
( So, don't skip breakfast people...and no...BRUNCH is not accepted.)

**BRUNCH= Breakfast+Lunch for those who don't know**

Overeating
It causes hardening of the brain arteries, leading to a decrease in mental power. (Hmmm, no wonder I feel kinda dumb lately.... =p)

Smoking
It causes multiple brain shrinkage and may lead to Alzheimer disease.
(Pheww, I don't smoke....so there..... no prob... =p)

High Sugar consumption
Too much sugar will interrupt the absorption of proteins and nutrients causing malnutrition and may interfere with brain development.
(malnutrition???? as in skinny??? then this is wrong..I eat lots of high sugar content stuff and my size is like....humongous.=p)

Air Pollution
The brain is the largest oxygen consumer in our body. Inhaling polluted air decreases the supply of oxygen to the brain, bringing about a decrease in brain efficiency.
(hmmm, hmmmm, hmmmm)

Sleep Deprivation
Sleep allows our brain to rest. Long term deprivation from sleep will accelerate the death of brain cells.
(Ohhh, then there goes my brain cells....thousands of em... rest in peace brain cells of mine...=p)

Head covered while sleeping
Sleeping with the head covered, increases the concentration of carbon dioxide and decrease concentration of oxygen that may lead to brain damaging effects.
(Again, bye bye brain cells..... RIP)

Working your brain during illness
Working hard or studying with sickness may lead to a decrease in effectiveness of the brain as well as damage the brain.
(There, another reason or excuse to tell your Boss. Your Boss would not want a retard as employee rite??? =p)

Lacking in stimulating thoughts
Thinking is the best way to train our brain, lacking in brain stimulation thoughts may cause brain shrinkage.
(So, think a lot..... I mean a lot...all the time. For example, why the chicken cross the road, egg comes first or chicken comes first and etc...=p)

Talking Rarely
Intellectual conversations will promote the efficiency of the brain...
(So, TALK a lot.... and Intellectually. For example, talk about how to save the world, save the whale or something.... =p)

The main causes of liver damage are:

1. Sleeping too late and waking up too late are main cause.
(bye bye liver.....=p)

2. Not urinating in the morning.
(so, force yourself to urinate in the morning....=p)

3. Too much eating.
(erm, there goes my liver again....=p)

4. Skipping breakfast.
(breakfast is good mmmkay)

5. Consuming too much medication.

6. Consuming too much preservatives, additives, food coloring , and artificial sweetener.

7. Consuming unhealthy cooking oil. As much as possible reduce cooking oil use when frying, which includes even the best cooking oils like olive oil. Do not consume fried foods when you are tired, except if the body is very fit.
(so, that means only eat fried food when you are fit and healthy??? What kind of advice is this??? =p)

8. Consuming raw (overly done) foods also add to the burden of liver.
Veggies should be eaten raw or cooked 3-5 parts. Fried veggies should be finished in one sitting, do not store.
(Veggie raw, meat cooked,Veggie raw, meat cooked~~ now repeat the mantra...ohm ohm ohm)

We should prevent this without necessarily spending more. We just have to adopt a good daily lifestyle and eating habits. Maintaining good eating habits and time condition are very important for our bodies to absorb and get rid of unnecessary chemicals according to "schedule."
(Follow the schedule......ohmm...ohmmmm....may the schedule be with you...=p)

WHY you ask????? Schedule???

BECAUSE:-

Evening at 9 - 11 PM : is the time for eliminating unnecessary/toxic chemicals (detoxification) from the antibody system (lymph nodes). This time duration should be spent by relaxing or listening to music. If during this time you are still in an unrelaxed state such as washing the dishes or monitoring children doing their homework, this will have a negative impact on health.
(okay..so don't do housework and monitor children after 9pm..=p)

Evening at 11pm - 1 am : is the detoxification process in the liver, and ideally should be done in a deep sleep state.
(That means no clubbing to you...Yes, no clubbing.... =p)

Early morning 1 - 3 am : detoxification process in the gall, also ideally done in a deep sleep state.
(For those who are still clubbing up to this point, be careful...=p)

Early morning 3 - 5 am : detoxification in the lungs. Therefore there will sometimes be a severe cough for cough sufferers during this time. Since the detoxification process had reached the respiratory tract, there is no need to take cough medicine so as not to interfere with toxin removal process.
(For those WHO are still clubbing during this time...... well, just continue clubbing.... no point stopping when the damage is done...just enjoy... =p)

Morning 5 - 7am : detoxification in the colon, you should empty your bowel.
(Uh oh, time to visit the toilet....=p)

Morning 7 - 9 am : absorption of nutrients in the small intestine, you should be having breakfast at this time. Breakfast should be earlier, before 6:30 am , for those who are sick. Breakfast before 7:30 am is very beneficial to those wanting to stay fit. Those who always skip breakfast, they should change their habits, and it is still better to eat breakfast late until 9 - 10 am rather than no meal at all.
(Again...BREAKFAST is important and good MMMKAY...)

Sleeping so late and waking up too late will disrupt the process of removing unnecessary chemicals. Aside from that, midnight to 4:00 am is the time when the bone marrow produces blood. Therefore, have a good sleep and don't sleep late.
(Yes, don't sleep late..... =p)

I am BACK

It's been ages since I last updated..( well, around 5 days ago or so. =p). So, I am back. So, anyone missed me? Hmmmm, Guess not. =p

In case you are wondering where I have been.... Yours truly went to Penang as in Penang Island specifically to attend this.


Yep, the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) 36th Convocation. Just to visit and look around there... =p

And of course, go around Penang. Driving blindly because I don't know how to navigate through Penang. So just drive according to instinct and of course the signboard helped. =p

So, that is it for this post. Will post something about the trip next time.

Sandakan Trip 2005 Part 1

Went to Sandakan for sightseeing a while back around 2005. The mascot for the town is the Orang Utan. Watch the video of Orang Utan here.

Anyway, back to Sandakan. It is like a 7 to 9 hours journey by bus from KK to Sandakan. It is like freaking long and also the bus driver would put "Tok Hoi" of Initial D fame to shame with his skills navigating along the treacherous small and winding road uphill and downhill. Hell, the bus driver can kick "Tok Hoi" ass racing with the eye closed and hand tied to the back..... =p

Back to Sandakan, one thing I noticed when I arrived in Sandakan is that there are lots of monkeys and their brothers and sisters at every roundabout. Well, most of it at least. =p

Flower Crab Dish

Yours Truly is not a good cook. Heck, he can't even cook something good enough that is presentable. =p

Anyway, there is this one time I tried to cook crab. "Flower Crab". (Don't translate this into cantonese.....that would sound wrong....real wrong.... =p)

So, I got this fresh flower crab that waits to be cooked. The keyword here is fresh. One would never be wrong in using fresh things. =p

After cleaning up and arranging em nicely, the crabs are ready to be cooked without any other spices or ingredient, just fresh flower crabs..... (It is vital for the crabs to be FRESH.... =p)



Wash properly and arrange in an oven plate

So, that is it.

There is also a few variety of this good stuff.

Variety 1: After the oven, let it cool down a bit then put it in the freezer. The next day take it out and start eating it cold. Yes, COLD. The taste is surprisingly good.

Variety 2: Before putting it in the oven, mix with whiskey and eat right after the oven. Two thumbs up for the taste. =p

Variety 3: Put a bit of black pepper and then put lots of cheese on top, then put it in the oven then consume while it is hot. The taste is so cheesylicious.... =p

Banana Choco Walker Delight

Yours Truly have the urge to make something today. So, the result of his creativity and wandering aimlessly is the BANANA CHOCO WALKER DELIGHT. It is my creation and I shall name it as I wish...=p

Yes, it is a kind of drink. A damn delicious drink I tell you, not to mention that it is a good instant energy booster. After all, banana contains potassium which is good to recover the lost energy during sport or any other activities that needs instant energy booster.. How cool is that.... =p

So, yours truly actually bought bananas, fresh milk and chocolate flavor Walls ice-cream. Then begin to create the drink that turned out to be the Banana Choco Walker Delight (Name trademarked by yours truly. =p)

So, Yours Truly will repeat the ingredient and how to make the Banana Choco Walker Delight.

First of all get BANANAS..... Lot's of em if you decided to make more servings.=p

Peel of the skin and then slice em like what is shown in the picture. =p

After that prepare the rest of the ingredient. Ingredient such as:


Fresh Milk

After getting all the ingredient needed for Yours Truly special Banana Choco Walker Delight, proceed to put them all together in the blender to be blended. yes, you need a blender to blend them together just in case you don't know. =p

VOILA!!!!!!

=p






Blend all the ingredient together and blend some more until all ingredient are blended perfectly. The amount of ice cream and also the whiskey to put depends on how big of a serving you want to make. =p


So, That is it....How to create Banana Choco Walker Delight. =p
