This is the Part 3 review of the book, Thick Face Black Heart by Chin Ning Chu. Click for Part 1 and Part 2 . In Chapter 3, the contents revolves around the concept of Dharma. According to wikipedia , the word Dharma comes from Sanskrit which happens to be the oldest language in the world and said to originate from ancient India. So, that means civilization begins in India? Dharma can be simplified as "the right way of living" or "proper conduct" and considered as The Way of the Higher Truths. It also refers to the teaching and doctrines of the founders of these tradition, such as Gautama Buddha. In a sense, it is similar to the ancient Chinese way of the Tao or Taoism. The author, in order to make it clearer, gave example such as A Warrior's Dharma is to slay the enemies of his nation and a physician's Dharma is to save lives, even enemies' life. Ate the Pitcher Plant Rice (don't really know what it is called but what would you call rice inside pitcher plant as? Pitcher Plant Rice, correct? =p) It is quite interesting that they make it in such a way that it resemble the "Bak Zhang" as in this post . It uses pitcher plant as the wrapper for the rice and the ingredient inside which consists of mostly sambals. Sambal is a mixture of spices that the locals use to spice up their food. It is definitely different and oh, Pitcher Plant is also called "Periuk Kera" in Bahasa Malaysia. ***UPDATES below*** Got my Streamyx bill this month and to my surprise, the bill is RM76 which has increment of RM10 compared to my previous monthly bills. The bill did not even state why am I overcharged for my monthly Streamyx bill so I went over to the online bill checking system and found out that the extra RM10 is from the wireless hotspot. WIRELESS HOTSPOT which I DID NOT USE and SUBSCRIBE in the first place. Anytime happy happy just bill unsuspecting and naive and gullible customers just like that is it? Without even telling or asking me whether I WANT the service or not. How come like that one. Unprofessional leh. Referring to this post , actually all graduates of local universities need to fill in the questionnaire or survey and at the end print out the slip to certify the graduates which is needed for the convocation as one of the criteria. It is the Graduates Tracer Study. In order to fill the online questionnaire, all graduates for the 2007 convocation need to go to the Ministry of Higher Education website. To go directly to the login page for the questionnaire, click here . ( The link in previous post is not working and most of the links provided and mailed to the graduates are wrong also.) Nu Er Hong is a type of rice wine, Chinese Rice Wine that is. It is a popular rice wine served at weddings for the Chinese. (However, I doubt that nowadays Chinese drinks this at weddings. With the abundant choices of western alcohol such as beer, whiskey, spirits and so on, more choices would incline in favor of western alcohol. =p) Nu Er Hong if translated directly would be Red Daughter. So, it happens that traditionally this Nu Er Hong which bottles of rice wine would be buried upon the birth of a daughter and would be kept buried until the daughter marries. Then the Nu Er Hong would be unearthed at the wedding and the drinking begins.=p This is the practice since traditional times in ancient China I supposed. Nu Er Hong have a 17% rating of alcohol level which is not too high. I tried Nu Er Hong in Labuan before and I would say that the taste is quite different. Yours Truly is the God Of Wealth or Chai Shen Ye (Chinese). All will be revealed later in the post. =p A little bit of introduction about God Of Wealth. During my university years, I have taken up Japanese language as a foreign language that is supposed to add value to undergraduates =p . That time all things Japanese are the in things, so the gullible me was influenced to take up the language out of languages such as French, Arabic, Kadazan, and some I forget. This entry is all about my sister's pet, Princeton. Yes, it is a Chihuahua. Mixed though, so kind of bigger than other chihuahua but still small for my standard nevertheless. This Chihuahua is like a sex deprived dog or a love making machine. Every time my sis brings back the Chihuahua, it would like locked on to my leg and start humping away. Yes, HUMPING like a mad rabbit. =p (Quite hilarious, there is this one time the chihuahua have a cramp from all the humping. This is the continuation from the previous review of the book Thick Face, Black Heart. Been working for almost 9 months now and so far it is still acceptable in the sense that I do not dread going to work every morning. One might say that I actually liked going to work. (Yes, I am normal...Quite normal..=p...Some might say that how is it possible that anyone likes going to work and not dreading waking up every morning just to work. This I assume from the complaints and stories I heard about...What??? Work again??? =p) My own opinion towards working might be different than others, however ultimately all work for MONEY..NO? That would be a definite yes. And since one have to work, why not do it cheerfully and with the spirit that you are earning the salary given and perform to expectation. (This assuming that the salary is on par with the workload and the time spend in which I know that a lot of you are not getting what is your worth. The book Thick Face, Black Heart - The Path To Thriving, Winning, and Succeeding by Chin-Ning Chu was recommended to me by my lecturer. Skeptical at first but as I read, it is actually quite interesting. In the book, the author explains about what is the meaning of Thick Face, Black Heart and ultimately that Thick Face, Black Heart is the Tao of life. Altogether there are 16 chapters in the book. Chapter 1 is about the Essence of Thick Face, Black Heart.
