2nd Year Working Anniversary + 10 days

***Note: Ok, so this post has been inside the draft section for so long since yours truly doesn't really have free time to blog now. Yes, blogging needs brain juice. One can't just post crap ya know? Though I must admit, there are a few crap posts that exist in the archive here but then that is different. Those are high quality crap posts. There. You might have thought that yours truly have weekends to blog and there should not be any excuse. What? Now I am your please toy now am I?***

***Jokes aside, yours truly am passionate about the job since your truly knows that there will be a time limit when yours truly will have to make a move. There is a larger design to life at work ya know? The plan that have to be followed. That being said, yours truly am also at work during weekends. It is either going to the magnificent highlands or bringing back work to do. That maybe will be highlighted in the post below depending on the yours truly mood. ***

***Anyway, finally tonight after so long yours truly found the neglected draft post that should have been posted long time ago. Then again the title should not be 2nd Year Working Anniversary + 10 days like what I have posted the previous year with the 1st year working anniversary + 10 days. It now should be 2nd year + 2 months + 6 days working anniversary, however yours truly have no intention to change the post title. It shall be what it shall be.***

-------------------------------------------------------------

It has come to that time of the year where yours truly reviews back his working life annually. Yep, it has been 10 days after my 2nd year working anniversary at the same employment. It is considered my 2nd job after graduation if not counting the two other jobs before graduation. Anyway, that should translate to quite experienced in working due to the diverse work expertise I am in. Lets see, yours truly was in multimedia, IT-hardware, IT-softwareeducation, and now am in marketing. However, there are still lots to learn - It is an ongoing lifelong process until maybe when you are six feet under. Aye?
***CORRECTION: Like what is being mentioned above - now that should be 2nd year + 2 months + 6 days working anniversary at the same employment instead of the 2nd year working anniversary at the same employment***

Yours Truly kinda actually love the working environment here. I mean aside from the some **hiccups** (Ok, make that a lot of hiccups), working at the current employment is actually stress free if you actually believe there is such a thing in the corporate world. So yeah, not exactly stress free but not stress until you cannot sleep that kind of stress. You get what I mean. I think. I am beginning to have some enlightenment on the whole life zen thing after the various work experience gathered. If you are not enlighten to that level yet, then you shall someday. Someday you will be matured enough to realise the whole life zen thing. Alright, I would be ignorant if I say I know it all so maybe not whole but a small portion of it. A small portion of it. Yours Truly am not the Buddha ya know.

Basically I believe it is up to oneself to make sure whether one is happy and is not stress, frustrated, and pressured. It is all governed by our mental attitude. It is what you think about that makes you happy or unhappy and is not what you have, who you are, and what you are doing.
***Yes, I have to admit that I ripped the last sentence from somewhere. That is one heck of a good sentence if I should say so myself***

Anyway, some recap of the past year aye? Before I continue with my cheong hei article. It has been a long time since yours truly have the inspiration to write this long of a post. Thus be grateful. Be very very grateful you two. Yes, all the two of you who are still reading this blog. =)

So, what have yours truly done? Lets see......
  1. First time experience being headhunted. Not the chop-skull-off kind of headhunt but career type. Which is actually very flattering since it is not once but thrice in a year. Not bad eh.
  2. First time in my life to have made the difficult decision/option on whether to stay on or go to some foreign land.
  3. Becomes considerably active in church which might contribute to the controlling of my temper to not scold people and most importantly not expecting that people will be able to do what I am able to do by assuming that people will know what I know. There is only one yours truly. No more, no less.
  4. Got subordinates to delegate and pass those admin and general works to.
  5. Learned that even though there are subordinates assigned to you, doesn't really means that you will have more time to do research, planning, and management work that is supposed to be done at your level.
  6. Learned that somehow your workload will increase as the boss will consider the fact that you have subordinates and dump more work for you to do since the purpose of subordinates are to be trained to help you and not causing more work or headache.
  7. Learned to actually embrace the mistakes of the subordinates instead of pushing the blame to them because being a head/person in charge means that you have to take responsibilities for your subordinates and not avoiding responsibilities when your subordinates make mistakes.
  8. Reinforced belief that assumption of things are always bad. Never assume things for it will cause a lot of problems.
  9. Learned that rather than assume, it is better to be clear and confirm by asking or finding out.
  10. Discovered that there are ignorant people who tend to think that the universe revolves around them.
  11. Discovered that people will take advantage of you if you are being courteous and kind.
  12. Learned that it is important to not scold people because people also got mother born one because it is better to inspire people or to educate people to improve by looking at their strength and weakness instead of adding stress to people regardless how hopeless they may seem. Especially when they are reporting under you. Unless of course if you have done all that and still cannot improve then it can't be helped.
  13. Learned that people may not see eye to eye with you and it is important to compromise and try to have them understand that doing what you are supposed to do is important regardless other external implications. It is like a soldier dharma is to fight off enemies of the country and a doctor dharma is to save lives. Whatever work or job you do, stick to your dharma. Do what you are suppose to do.
  14. Learned that even though you are trying to help people, people might not appreciate it and might also condemn you for it.
  15. Learned that not many people knows the concept of "if the coach ignores you then you are hopeless, if the coach enthusiastically very willing to train you and show you what to do but in the course may seems to be unreasonable, not supportive and harsh means you have potential to go far".
  16. Learned that it is more challenging to conduct events when you have limited manpower and budget as it will train up your critical thinking skills, flexibility to adapt to the sudden changes, people skills, and leadership skills. Not to mention the pressure and stress from all aspects. One would learn more with the limited manpower and budget compared to having a lot of manpower and budget.
  17. Learned that it is important to admit your mistakes and taking responsibilities.
  18. Discovered that there are people who thinks that the world owes them a living.
  19. Discovered that things doesn't always goes as planned.
  20. Discovered that sometimes even when you are passionate about the company, there are times when you will feel sad that you are unable to actually do something to make a change. To make a difference.
  21. Discovered that even though there are a lot of negativity in the air, the most important is not to be the captivity of negativity but becomes the positive beacon that spreads the positive aura around to negate the negativity.
  22. Positive thinking ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. Positive mental attitude ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And there yours truly ends with number 23. For one of the greatest basketball legend used to don jersey of this number.

Last but not least, some quotes that yours truly felt should be portions of the life zen thing as spoken of earlier in the post.

---------------------------------------------------

"Act enthusiastic and you will be enthusiastic."

"Any fool can criticize, condemn, and complain - and most fools do."

"Develop success from failures. Discouragement and failure are two of the surest stepping stones to success."

"Feeling sorry for yourself, and your present condition, is not only a waste of energy but the worst habit you could possibly have."

"Happiness doesn't depend on any external conditions, it is governed by our mental attitude."

"If you can't sleep, then get up and do something instead of lying there worrying. It's the worry that gets you, not the lack of sleep."

"Instead of worrying about what people say of you, why not spend time trying to accomplish something they will admire. "

"It isn't what you have, or who you are, or where you are, or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about."

"Our fatigue is often caused not by work, but by worry, frustration and resentment. "

"The expression a woman wears on her face is far more important than the clothes she wears on her back. "

"The only way to get the best of an argument is to avoid it."

"There are four ways, and only four ways, in which we have contact with the world. We are evaluated and classified by these four contacts: what we do, how we look, what we say, and how we say it. "

"Today is life-the only life you are sure of. Make the most of today. Get interested in something. Shake yourself awake. Develop a hobby. Let the winds of enthusiasm sweep through you. Live today with gusto."

"When dealing with people, remember you are not dealing with creatures of logic, but creatures of emotion."
