Sea Fishing

***Before continuing with the post. Just wanted to say that I am back and hopefully will be able to post more consistently and more often from now onwards. I know you all missed me. Don't be shy now. You know you do. Ahem***

Yours Truly went fishing at the sea a while back. It is a 2 days 1 night fishing trip on a fishing boat that can accommodate around 10 people.

So, to Telaga Air yours truly went. That is where the fishing boat will take us out to the sea. Seems like Telaga Air is under somesort of construction to build a waterfront of somesort. The view from the Telaga Air jetty is quite beautiful. There are a lot of local visitors around with a couple of makeshift stalls selling drinks and food.

After waiting for quite a while, the fishing boat came and we load all our belongings and battle gears onto the fishing boat. Went around the fishing boat and saw that there is a room with air conditioning and also a small toilet. For a moment there I thought we would have to relief ourselves the "natural" way if there is no toilet. Exposed to the nature elements in our fullest naked glory. Ahem.

After loading all our battle gears onto the boat, we set off to our battlefield. Along the way, the sceneries are breathtakingly beautiful. There is this unexplained awe looking at the sea and its surroundings.

Along the way, we spotted another fishing boat going out. Aha, competitor for the best fishing spot. May the best fisherman get the best catch. Ahem. Anyway, while waiting to arrive at the destination, we prepare our battle equipments with the fishing lines, hooks and all. Best to be prepared early.

Yours Truly gets some shuteye since the journey is quite long and wakes up to the smell of tea being served. Somehow, having tea and biscuits in the wide open sea is quite enjoyable. We also pack some instant noodle so that we can fill our stomach fast. One can't go on a battle with empty stomach mmmmmkay.

Before I go on further, I feel the need to clarify further that I am a beginner to sea fishing. The only fishing I ever do is at the longkang or river back in Sibu with a wooden/bamboo stick, fishing line, and a few worms wringling around. Yes, the kampung way. I am afterall considered a kampung boy coming from a small town.

Thus, normally I will just use the fishing equipment prepared by others instead of preparing it myself. Hence, I find it quite interesting the way some of the bait is prepared. We use bait from the small fish we caught, some squids, and prawns.

There is one interesting method of preparing a bait that preserve the whole fish in a sense. Somesort of like camouflage the hooks or something.

When we arrived at our fishing spot, everyone are all geared up for battle and busy fishing. Yours Truly on the other hand, takes his time and enjoy the sea experience. Watermelon tasted extra tasty at the sea, heck all food tasted extra delicious at the sea. Don't know why but somehow it just tasted good even the simple dinner we had on board tasted extra delicious. Maybe it is the salty sea wind. Perhaps.

Time seems to pass faster when you are having fun. Soon, the sun begins to set. Another picture taking opportunity and being the tigger happy I am, I snapped away taking pictures of all sorts.

And soon, the sun disappears as if it drops into the sea extinguished by the salty sea water. The moon replace the sun and shine brightly in the night. Brightly as in the moon shine kind of bright.

This fishing trip, yours truly did not really catch a lot of fish. The most interesting catch is a snail like creature caught hanging on my fishing hook among other catches by the others. People catch fish, I catch snail. Ahem.
