Blogging

I am sure by now most of you would at least heard about blogs or blogging. Now, I am not going to go in depth on the "What is a blog and blogging" or even 'Blogging and You" those type of topics. Wikipedia does a great job at explaining that. So, I will just leave to the experts to explain about it.

I am however going to touch a bit on the blogging platforms. Free blogging platform where anyone can just spend a few minutes to register and get their blog(s) up and running.

Now, there are quite a few number of free blogging platforms where you can use  to unleash the writer beast inside of you. **Ahem**

For beginners, either Wordpress or Blogspot/Blogger blogging platform would be a good choice. Both are easy to register and have a selection of themes that can be used in the blog. Just go to Wordpress or Blogspot depending on your choice and sign up and fill in some information and you are set to post your first article/ramblings/thoughts in your very own blog.
(Easy with the assumption that you know how to use the Internet. If you really don't know how then email me and if I have the time I would help. Really.)

Wordpress.com
Blogger.com
One of the reason why some even go for their own domain is because of the fear that the free blogging platform would someday cease to operate aka closed down. That is why I recommended the two free blogging platforms.

Wordpress because, well it is a well known and popular blogging platform and being used by quite a huge number of users around the world thus minimizing the risk of it being closed down or stopped operation.

Blogspot/Blogger because, well it is owned by Google and that should be a good assurance that it wont closed down anytime soon. Come on. It's Google we are talking bout there.

Even if you have your own domain and hosting and stuff, nothing last forever. Nothing. Regardless whatever thing people been feeding you, definitely nothing lasts forever. Amen to that.

So, if you want to have a blog, the free blogging platforms mentioned would be good choice to start and whenever you feel like you want to move on to have your own domain and hosting, you can always move the contents of your blog to the new domain and hosting. It's like moving houses. Sort of.
(This involved some technicalities and are not for the faint hearted. Rumor has it that there are some who in the process of moving blog contents becomes so frustrated that they gone insane. So beware and leave the moving to the experts mmmmkay...)
That's basically all about this post.

So, what are you waiting for? Start your own blog today. Take over the world or something. The pen is mightier than the sword.

Or in this case, the keyboard is mightier than nuclear bomb.

Yeah right.
