Yours Truly noticed that there is a new eating establishment a while back and this is a brief post on that eating establishment.  The new makan makan place is called FLAVOURS and their specialty is Curry Fish Head. Well, at least i think so since it is written so at the signboard. On with the pictures:  Butter Squid aka Sotong  Shark Fin Soup    Sea Cucumber   Pork Ribs Finally Curry Fish Head (Won't be complete without it right? Since the signature dish is curry fish head) So, the verdict? Restaurant environment is not too bad. Decoration wise is nice. The quality of the food is also ok. Recommendable.  But the pricing is a bit on the high side as you can find food that is worth the money spent at other eating establishment in Kuching.  Then again, the question of worth or not is very subjective. So, people always say fresh ingredients makes delicious dishes regardless how simple is the preparation. Correct? Hence, you get people who try to eat em poor bastards while em poor bastards are still alive. Sounds like the time where I heard people eating monkey brain with alcohol while the monkey is still alive. But that is a story for some other day. Today's menu would be fresh live fish deep fried and ready to be eaten while still alive. By now the BCCK Ramadhan Buffet 2010 ended already since it starts from 16th August 2010 to 5th September 2010. A while back, yours truly went to the BCCK Ramadhan Buffet 2010. For the uninitiated, BCCK is the short form for Borneo Convention Centre Kuching. Go Google if you don't know where. The BCCK Ramadhan Buffet 2010 is RM58nett/adult and RM25nett/children. Less with the words and on with the pictures shall we? A picture is worth a thousand words after all. Not really sure whether there are other restaurants by the name Hoi Tin Lau or not in the world but what the heck, the title Hoi Tin Lau Restaurant Kuching for sure will straight away let people know that I am writing about a restaurant in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, Earth. I am just that considerate. Ahem~~. Anyway, let's proceed. Hoi Tin Lau Restaurant is a Chinese cuisine restaurant that I went to a while back. Only now got the chance to make a post about it. Since I don't have anything to post also anyway so might as well post something that I think is nice. So, 12 of us went to have dinner at Hoi Tin Lau Restaurant the other day. It is located at Jalan Mendu. Just behind the  "Jin Sha" massage or maybe you will be more familiar with the 20 cents discount store. It used to be located at Grand Continental Hotel but have since moved to their present location at Jalan Mendu. Contact information at the end of the post. Again, I am just that considerate. First of all, get yourself a snake from your local friendly neighborhood village. The bigger the better. Then start by chopping your newly acquire snake into several portions for easy cooking. After that please remember to wash the snake portions and cut into its stomach to pull out the contents. Depending on your luck, you might see a baby horse inside depending on the size of your snake. A huge ass anaconda maybe. Again, just to repeat. Pull out the insides of the stomach and wash the dismembered snake. You might see the following: A Snake's Stomach Content Wash the insides if you feel like eating them...Ish** After your dismembered snake is cleaned, apply the ancient secret cooking technique. The BBQ. BBQ it foe a while and don't forget to flip it over to ensure that it is well cooked. Snake Meat BBQ-ed Flip over and BBQ until it is well done Lastly ITADAKIMASU!!!!!!
